How my NHL Preseason Predictions Played Out

In this post, I’m going to tell you about what happened in the NHL preseason games, and I’m going to give you a detailed explanation on if my NHL preseason predictions were correct or wrong for the first three games. Overall, my predictions played out pretty well. I got 6 out of 10 of my predictions correct.

Game One

The first game was the Las Vegas Golden Knights vs. the Arizona Coyotes. My prediction was correct. The Las Vegas Golden Knights won by a score of 6-2. In the first period, the Arizona Coyotes Ilya Lyubushkin scored 4:00 into the period. The Coyotes Vinnie Hinostroza scored 9:08 into  the period.

For the Las Vegas Golden Knights, Max Pacioretty scored 4:39 into the period and 12:10 into the period. In the second period, the Las Vegas Golden Knights Cody Eakin scored 4:55 into the period and their Max Pacioretty scored 16:53 into the period. In the third period, the Las Vegas Golden Knights Reilly Smith scored 8:58 into the period and then Brayden McNabb scored 19:18 into the period.

Game Two

The second game I predicted was the Nashville Predators vs. the Florida Panthers. My prediction was correct again. I thought the Nashville Predators would win and they won 6-3. In the first period, the Florida Panthers Brett Connolly scored 6:20 into the game, and their Colton Sceviour scored 17:16 into the game. The Nashville Predators didn’t score any in the first period. In the second period, the Panthers Jayce Hawryluk scored 2:05 into the period. The Nashville Predators Nick Bonino scored 1:09 into the period, their Tanner Jeannot scored  2:18 into the period and their Austin Watson scored 19:41 into the period. In the third period, the Panthers didn’t score any. The Predators Philip Tomasino scored 3:59 into the period, their Rem Pitlick scored 5:31 into the period and their Nick Bonino scored 17:22 into the period.

Game Three

The third game I predicted was the Boston Bruins vs. the New Jersey Devils. I thought the Boston Bruins would win. They didn’t. They lost 4-3 in overtime. The first period was a bit hard for both teams, the Bruins scored nothing and the Devils didn’t score anything either. The second period was much better, the Bruins Oskar Steen scored 5:24 into the period and the New Jersey Devils Jack Hughes scored 12:06 into the period. The third period was both teams best period, the Bruins Chris Wagner scored 2:39 into the period and their Jack Studnicka scored 19:10 into the period and the New Jersey Devils Jesper Bratt scored 0:29 into the period and their Connor Carrick scored 13:01 into the period. In overtime, the New Jersey Devils Jack Hughes scored 0:41 into overtime to end the game.

Conclusion

We’re already pretty far into the regular season so now, in future posts, I will start to focus on who I think will be in the playoffs.
