On February 29, 2020, the San Jose Sharks beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-0. In the game, the San Jose Sharks scored in every period.

In the first period the San Jose Sharks’ Evander Kane scored 18:48 into the game, scoring his 22 goal of the year. In the second period Timo Meier scored 11:12 into the period, scoring his 21 goal of the season. Also, in the second period the Joel Kellman scored 14:15 into the period, scoring his 3 goal of the season and his 3 goal in the NHL.

In the third period Logan Couture scored 6:14 into the period, scoring his 16 of the season. Also, Joe Thornton scored 16:01 into the period, scoring his 5 of the season. Martin Jones of the Sharks stopped all 30 shots he faced.

The Penguins are now on a 6 game losing streak coming off the loss to the sharks. This will effect the playoff spot they might get because the team that’s under them in the standings can come back in points if the penguins stay on the losing streak. The Sharks are second to last in standings in their division, but they’re tied with the team ahead of them and their division is pretty close together in points for the standings.
