I am excited about hockey season starting so I want to share some of the preseason game schedule and my predictions on which team will win.
The NHL Preseason is when all the hockey teams in the National Hockey League have practice games against some of the other teams in the league. The NHL preseason starts September 15, 2019.
The NHL Preseason Schedule
PRESEASON GAME ONE
The first game of the NHL preseason is on the 15th of September and it is the Arizona Coyotes at the Las Vegas Golden Knights. The game is at 4:30 PM ET.
My prediction: I think the Las Vegas Golden Knights will win the game because they got to the finals in the first year they played in the NHL. They also went 7 games in last year’s playoffs against the San Jose Sharks.
PRESEASON GAME TWO
The second game of the NHL preseason is the Florida Panthers at the Nashville Predators. The game is on September 16, 2019 at 4:30 PM ET.
My prediction: I think the Nashville Predators will win because they are a good team.
PRESEASON GAME THREE
The third game of the NHL preseason is the Boston Bruins at the New Jersey Devils. The game is on September 16, 2019 at 7 PM ET.
My prediction: I think the Boston Bruins will win the game because they got to the Stanley Cup Finals last year against the St. Louis Blues.
PRESEASON GAME FOUR
The fourth game of the NHL preseason is the Chicago Blackhawks at Washington Capitols. The game is on September 16th, 2019 at 7 PM ET.
My prediction: I think the Washington Capitols will win the game because they won the Stanley Cup in 2017 -18 season. They beat the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
PRESEASON GAME FIVE
I found an issue with the date and time of this game. On both NHL.com and the New Jersey Devil’s website schedule, it said that the Devils would be playing two different teams on the same day at the same time. One is a home game and the other is an away game. So I don’t know which game is the correct game.
PRESEASON GAME SIX
The sixth game is the New York Islanders at the Philadelphia Flyers. The game is on September 17, 2019 at 7 PM ET.
My prediction: I think the New York Islanders will win because they got far in the 2018-2019 playoffs.
PRESEASON GAME SEVEN
The seventh game is the Pittsburgh Penguins at the Buffalo Sabres. The game is on September 17, 2019 at 7 PM ET
My prediction: I think the Pittsburgh Penguins will win because in the 2015-2016 and the 2016-2017 season they won the Stanley Cup.
PRESEASON GAME EIGHT
The eighth game is the second match up of the Florida Panthers at the Nashville Predators. The game is on September 17th at 8:00 PM ET.
My prediction: I think the Nashville Predators will win.
PRESEASON GAME NINE
The ninth game is the St. Louis Blues at the Dallas Stars. The game is on September 17, 2019 at 8:30 PM ET.
My prediction: I think the St. Louis Blues will win because they won the Stanley Cup in the 2018-19 season.
PRESEASON GAME TEN
The tenth game is the Vancouver Canucks at the Calgary Flames. The game is on September 17, 2019 at 9:00 PM ET.
My prediction: I think the Calgary Flames will win because last season, when they went into the playoffs, they were ranked #1 in their division.
My Favorite Team
My favorite team is the San Jose Sharks. Their first preseason game is a home game for the Sharks against the Anaheim Ducks. The game is on September 17, 2019 at 10 PM ET.
My prediction: I think the San Jose Sharks will win because in the 2018-19 season they got to the semi-finals of the Stanley Cup playoffs. They lost to the St. Louis Blues.

15 Sep 2019I grew up in Chicago with a brother who was a HUGE Blackhawks fan… I guess they’re my team too! I haven’t watched professional hockey in a very long time and I’m pleased that you enjoy it. Many years ago, I taught youth hockey in Massachusetts and had a wonderful time teaching the boys stroking, stop-starts, stick handing and good sportsmanship. When I was in elementary school, I played on the boys’ teams because girls didn’t play hockey! I really enjoyed playing.
It will be interesting to see how your predictions “play-out”…

16 Sep 2019Nice. I mean about teaching hockey. Why weren’t there any girls teams back then? Did any girls play back then? I wonder if they did? Even, why is your favorite team the Blackhawks? Is it because you grew up in Chicago?
